Locations: Rochester, NY Posted: Mar 14, 2024 Closes: Mar 29, 2024 - 11:59 PM EDT Type: Full Time Position ID: 173704 Job Description: Function of Position: Work alongside the Finance Manager in maintaining accurate general ledger balances, preparing financial statements and supporting schedules, and performing general accounting and reconciliation functions for the MCC Association.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities: Accounting: Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance for the Student Association, Campus Bookstore, Richard M.
Guon Child Care Center, and Residence Halls.
Conduct monthly reconciliation of all bank and investment statements to the general ledger.
Prepare monthly work papers for all balance sheet accounts.
Download and record ACH payments received from the NYS Office of State Comptroller and prepare transfer requests as necessary.
Calculate charge back expenses due to the Student Association from the other operating units of the Association and prepare transfer requests to reimburse.
Prepare annual reconciliations and reports including summer camp profit and loss statements for Residence Halls, Richard M.
Guon Child Care Center, Bookstore and Student Association.
Prepare annual vacation/sick time accrue calculations.
Complete monthly NYS Sales tax.
Reconcile and submit unclaimed funds to NYS.
Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements.
Assist the Finance Manager with completion of the quarterly reporting package including accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including "Budget vs.
Actual" variance reports.
Assist the Finance Manager with the quarterly calculation and reconciliation of all fixed asset accounts.
Grants: Prepare all accounting records and reports related to grants and sponsored programs.
Direct all accounting entries (journal entries, supplier invoices, expense reports) ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.
Maintain schedule of grant reporting deadlines for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Reconcile grants payable and receivable accounts on a monthly basis.
Other: Maintain commissions tracking spreadsheet; calculate and prepare requests to pay college their share of vending commissions.
Summarize weekly enrollment of the Richard M Guon Child Care Center and prepare weekly profit and loss statements.
Assist the Finance Manager in carrying out the policies and procedures of the MCC Association, Inc.
Assist the Finance Manager in preparation for the annual audits.
Assist the Finance Manager with assigned projects.
Provide backup for other business office functions as necessary.
Verify all safe and service desk drawer counts MCC Expectations: Adheres to the College Code of Conduct.

Maintains technological competencies utilized by the College.
