*Job Summary: *The Staff Accountant performs account reconciliations, analyses, prepares journal entries, and various reports.
Assist with monthly general ledger closings and perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
*Accounting* –
o Prepare month-end journal entries
o Prepare account reconciliations for multiple divisions
o Assist in preparing supporting schedules for monthly closing
o Assist in compiling and distributing a variety of management reports
*Accounts Receivable and Payable*
o Assist with month-end reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness
o Investigate and resolve issues with the processing of invoices and/or payments
o Assist with reconciling in-coming vendor invoices against purchase orders for accuracy
o Assist with the daily processing of in-coming customer payments
*General Duties*
o Performs other duties as assigned.
*Experience & Education Required:*
* BS in Accounting or Finance with two to five years relative experience or the equivalent education and experience.
Experience in a manufacturing job costing environment preferred but not required.
*Knowledge & Skills - Required:*
* Proficient with MS Office Suite; with intermediate skills in Excel and Word.
· Outstanding organizational skills, attentive to details and accuracy.
· Ability to multi-task and effectively track deliverables.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
*Confidentiality*
The Staff Accountant may be exposed to confidential information relating to vendor/customer relationships, products, organizational growth strategies and company strategic plans.
A high degree of confidentiality is required.
*Management Responsibility*
The Staff Accountant is an individual contributor role that operates under the general direction of the CFO within established policies and guidelines.
A wide degree of discretion is required to perform the responsibilities of the position.
*Work Environment*
Majority of time spent in an office environment sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer.
Ability to operate standard office equipment (phone, fax, computer, etc.
) is required.
