The cost accountant is responsible for the management accounting and reporting processes and maintaining internal controls that reduce risk and validate the accuracy and completeness of the company’s financial statements.

*What You'll Do…*
· Issue timely and accurate financial statements on a weekly and monthly basis.
· Ensure that general ledger account reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and follow up to resolve any issues that are noted.
· Analyze internal control risk and recommend improvements to processes.
· Maintain an orderly accounting system, and update reports as needed.
· Create and maintain documentation of system of accounting policies and procedures to describe process flows and demonstrate compliance with US GAAP.
· Foster an environment of development and growth to accomplish goals and objectives.
* Oversee area of responsibility in a manner consistent with the mission and values of the company.
* Lead technological improvement projects to modernize the accounting and finance functions, including working with cross-functional teams to increase automation of manual processes in the company’s ERP system.

*What You'll Need…*
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
· A minimum of five years of experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
· A minimum of three years of experience with accounting software
· CPA or CMA, preferred
· Experience in service or manufacturing industries or project-based businesses, preferred
· Proficient with standard office equipment (i.
e.
, computer, phones, scanner, fax and copier)
· Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Experience with general ledger
· Effective written and verbal communication skills
