Maintain the financial records through Wincap and Excel including general ledger reconciliations, creating new budget and revenue accounts, creating, and entering journal entries, entering budget amendments and transfers.
All in a timely and detailed manner.
2.
Maintain and analyze Accounts Receivable.
Send out past due notices.
Work with collection agency.
3.
Maintain and reconcile the vendor withdrawals related to Flexible Spending Accounts and Other plan withdrawals.
4.
Maintain spreadsheet for Special Aid Fund which includes ESY and grants and contracts.
5.
Reconcile semi-monthly payrolls.
6.
Monthly and quarterly board reports.
7.
Work with various departments and business office staff to resolve issues and handle inquiries.
8.
Monthly bank reconciliations.
9.
Yearend close account analysis, journal entries, and reporting.
10.
Assist Treasurer with State Aid reports and Treasurer’s reports.
11.
Backup to Assistant Treasurer.
12.
Backup to Billing Clerk.
13.
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1.
Civil Service eligibility as an Accountant: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting; OR, (B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration, that included a minimum of fifteen (15) semester credit hours, in accounting, PLUS one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional* experience in auditing or accounting; OR, (C) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate degree in Accounting, PLUS two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent professional* experience in auditing or accounting; OR, (D) Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
*Professional experience in auditing or accounting shall not include account keeping, bookkeeping, or other clerical financial or record keeping activities.
NOTE: Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications under (B) or (C) must submit a student copy of their transcript or itemized list of course work and credits received at the time of application.

Strong background in finance, record keeping, and accounting required.
3.
Expertise in Excel required.
4.
Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, be detail oriented and possess strong organizational skills.
5.
Strong customer service orientation along with interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to manage large volumes of work, effectively adapt to change and meet deadlines.
7.
Ability to work with various internal departments within Monroe One BOCES.
