*Job Overview:* We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable candidate to oversees and be responsible for Fianacial management and maintenance of beneficiary entitlements and benefits.
*Key Responsibilities:* * All facets of initiating and maintaining agency representative payee status including receiving Social Security benefits, Supplemental Security Income payments or both on behalf of the beneficiary and use or conserve the benefits/payments for the beneficiary’s current and foreseeable needs or benefit.
* Maintenance of beneficiary entitlements and benefits, including detailed and accurate records of all payments received and monthly calculation, proper allocation and on-line banking transfers for beneficiary rent and personal allowance funds.
* Monitor beneficiary financial information including beneficiary wages/earnings in maintaining beneficiary entitlements and benefits.
* Communication with Social Security Administration and government agencies with requested information, reports, and required documentation and as needed with questions about irregularities or inconsistencies regarding beneficiary benefits and government assistance.
* Conduct regular audits of beneficiary residential accounts and burial accounts.
* Report any changes or events to the appropriate government agency which could affect the beneficiary’s eligibility for benefits or payments.
* Maintain current working knowledge of Social Security, Medicaid benefits and government assistance and the policies and procedures for oversight of those benefits.
Attend all entitlement and benefit trainings whether in person or virtual as provided by Office for People With Developmental Disabilities, Social Security Administration, Medicaid, and any other government assistance agency.
* Oversee and assist where necessary the Assistant Financial Benefits Specialist with beneficiary food stamp benefit applications and recertifications, preparation and filing of beneficiary annual Medicaid recertifications, and completion of on-line Social Security Representative Payee reports *Qualifications:* * Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business preferred with at least two years of related experience.
Must possess working knowledge and application of Social Security, Medicaid, and government assistance rules and regulations.
