PROJECT STAFF ACCOUNTANT
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Staff Accountant performs various accounting functions throughout the month to assist the Controller in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the company s books and records through thorough financial reporting and compliance procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collects invoices received, both hard copy and electronic, and sorts by location
Prioritizes the payment of invoices according to the potential discount to be received and individual payment terms
Reviews invoices and compares to open receivers, and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary
Ensures the Controller has updated the accounts payable on a weekly basis, and reviews the payables aging report, indicating all due now invoices and provides to the Controller for review
Maintains supplier account details and files
Review project costs to ensure compliance with the Capitalization policy
Review and process vendor invoices to project and budget codes
Review account totals related to project assets and expenses
Assist in preparing operating unit financial reports and financial statements — comparative and budget analysis.
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (GAAP etc), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
Aid in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines
Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
Support the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable amongst other accounts to GL
Actively involved in the company s commitment to quality and our ISO program
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor s degree in accounting or a related field
Minimum five years of general accounting experience (account reconciliation, financial statement preparation, adjusting journal entries)
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Strong Excel background – modeling of complex business scenarios, budgets, and financial calculations
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and analyze financial reports
Software (Epicor and Quickbooks)/ technology experience is a plus
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000.
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
