Opening Full Time 40 hours Grade 053 Neuro-Ctr Human Exp Ther/Admin Schedule 8 AM-5 PM; OCC WKNDS Responsibilities GENERAL PURPOSE: The Center for Health and Technology (CHeT), The CHeT Sr.
Staff Accountant will perform accounting, purchasing, and other key administrative activities for the Center and maintain accurate financial records and reports for CHeT Finance Manager and Principal Investigators (PI's).
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Financial Reconciliation, Reporting and Analysis Perform analyses of accounts to confirm completeness and accuracy of data; use judgment as to whether statements are reasonable; initiate corrective actions as appropriate.
Generate and analyze monthly financial reports from UR Financials to complete monthly reconciliation.
Compute and compile periodic financial reports such as profit and loss statements, revenue and expense projections.
Reconcile all salary and non-salary transactions on CHeT accounts on a monthly basis and update financial dashboard for Management review.
Review time and effort reporting against budgets.
Provide support with project close-out by assisting Financial Analyst with information to complete the report on expenditures.
Consult with internal and external auditors on matters such as definition and classification of accounts, accounting activity, and other technical aspects of the accounting system.
Perform ad-hoc financial analyses at management or sponsor's request.
Financial Transactions and Encumbrance Manage and submit journal entries to allocate service center rates based on time and effort.
Examine documents to verify that transactions are properly supported in accordance with University policy and procedures; exhibit and summarize supporting findings; recommend solutions or initiate corrective action, as appropriate.
Design financial reports reflecting fiscal operations; interpret trends and project data into the future; prepare reports for submission to Federal and State agencies, sponsors, etc regarding status of sponsored projects.
Update encumbrances and transactions into U of R's encumbrance accounting system (UR GEMS).
Determine financial accounts and spend codes to ensure proper accounting of expenditures.
Develop and maintain a complete and systematic set of records of department financial transactions.
Recommend improvements and changes in policy and procedures in the accounting system(s) and workflows and document them.
Perform cost finding analyses for use in recommending rates for redistribution of costs or recovery from sponsored programs.
Billing Responsible for all CHeT billing for a variety of activities including consulting, study milestones and others as necessary.
By way of electronically maintained spreadsheets, manage the billing to sponsors for study progress payments, meeting reimbursements, consulting arrangements, committee meetings as well as others that arise.
Liaise with appropriate personnel to ensure invoices are generated and sent to sponsors or other payers in a timely fashion.
Manage subsidiary ledger of open invoices to follow up on.
Generate monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly invoices, based on project specific contracts for all CHeT contracted projects.
Invoices will be reviewed/approved by the CHeT Finance Manager prior to sending to respective clients.
Deposit checks and reconcile to each project.
Purchasing and Inventory Control of Consumables Liaise with Vendors, Purchasing, and Accounts Payable on behalf of the CHeT & CMSU to execute purchase orders with vendors.
Review quotes and invoices, manage payments, and maintain transparent reporting on purchase orders.
Advise on purchases, with demonstrated knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures.
Prepare appropriate documents for purchases.
P-card Manager- Manage and process Purchase Card (P-Card) charges and allocate to correct accounts.
Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 3 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education required.
5 years' experience preferred Advanced computer skills, including spreadsheet analysis using Excel and Word.
Able to learn new financial software (Workday and UR GEMS) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written communication.
Ability to work well in a team environment where all work product is reviewed and approved before any work product leaves CHeT.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

EOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled Pay Range Pay Range: $53,500 - $74,900 Annually The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job.
Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined byconsidering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
