The Senior Accountant is responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
This Finance Department position works closely with all other departments of the Company.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other accounting and reporting schedules, requiring calculations of a moderate to high level of complexity
Compile and analyze financial information to assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial statements and audited external financial statements
Serve as lead accounting system administrator for the fixed asset module of company’s ERP system.
Perform fixed asset accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month end close of the Company
Oversee daily cash balance reporting and reconciliations
Ensure financial records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
Assist in new policy and procedure implementation
Contribute to the refinement of accounting practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial activities
Collaborate with external auditors, addressing queries and providing necessary documentation under the guidance of the Corporate Controller
Support Controller and CFO as needed
Qualifications/Experience:
5+ years accounting experience with a strong preference for background in manufacturing
Knowledge of current accounting pronouncements and generally accepted accounting principles
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA a plus
Experience with large ERP systems, knowledge of IFS a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management abilities
Ability to initiate, execute and meticulously document tasks from start to finish
Excellent communication skills
