Location: Batavia, NY Category: Administrative/Professional Posted On: Thu Feb 1 2024 Job Description: ABOUT LIBERTY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM: The Liberty Partnership program seeks to remove the barriers which prevents many young adults from graduating from high school and encourages these students to pursue higher education or post-secondary vocational training by promoting collaboration between colleges and universities, community based organizations, school districts, parents, volunteers, businesses and industry in providing comprehensive services for "at risk" students to enter the workforce prepared with the necessary skills to be successful.
Genesee Community College is the lead agency which provides administrative and financial management.
GCC campus resources and professional advisement are valuable to the program.
The program office is located at the Batavia Campus Center.
Liberty Partnership serves students in Albion, Medina, Batavia, Brockport School Districts and Byron-Bergen.

edu/resources/high-school-students/accelerated-college-enrollment/liberty-partnership/ GENERAL FUNCTIONS: The Full-Time Casework Facilitator is responsible for acting as a liaison for youth between home and school and providing services for youth in the following areas: Academic Support, Counseling, College and Career Preparation, and Family Advocacy.
Position will work primarily in the Medina School District.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as liaison between student, home, and school.
Makes home visits with each student to establish rapport with parents or guardians, gather information, address attendance concerns, and provide casework follow up.
When appropriate, make referrals to outside agencies such as Social Services, Mental Health, and Center for Workforce Development.
Serves as a liaison between the family, school, and community agencies.
Consults with LPP Program Counselor and Assistant Director to accurately address educational need of LPP students.
Consults and collaborates with school personnel on active student participants.
Maintains student information management system to facilitate tracking student contact and progress Assists school counselors with group facilitation, case conferencing, and attendance issues.
Attends appropriate Pupil Personnel and Committee meetings.
Schedules of such meetings to be determined by the host district.
Attends team meetings with students, teachers, and parent/teacher conferences as requested by parents/students and/or faculty.
Schedule, coordinate and supervise tutorial sessions for LPP participants both in school and outside of school hours in the community.
Assist in the planning and supervision of students involved in enrichment, career exploration and summer programming activities.
Attend all scheduled LPP staff meetings.
Attend all scheduled faculty meetings in the school building assigned to.
Prepare monthly report and submit to Project Director the first of each month Prepare mileage report and submit to Principal Clerk by the fifth of each month.
Mileage is recorded as your school assignment as the point of origin.
Travel to and from home visits, meetings, and other related activities assigned by Project Director.
Provide daily supervision of tutors and volunteers.
Recruit and provide orientation to students for summer programming.
Supervision of students and programs implementation for summer program.
Job Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: Required Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field.
An Associates Degree in Human Services, Education, or related field will be considered with a minimum of three years' experience working with adolescents and their families.
Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity and is mindful of and develops accessibility solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.
Preferred Master's Degree in Human Services, Education or related field is preferred.
Additional Information: RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports to the Project Director for Liberty Partnership Programs.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a long standing, grant-funded, year-round position (including summers) at 35 hours per week and is compensated at a rate of $41,756.
36 annually.
The Liberty Partnerships Grant program is currently in year 2 of a 5 year cycle with anticipated renewal.
A valid NYS driver's license and readily available access to reliable transportation is required.
The scope of the position requires working an occasional evening and weekends including some travel.
