The firm is currently recruiting for an individual to join the firm as a Legal Assistant.
*Full-time or Part-time is available.
* This position is the primary support for the attorney.
The firm is looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude who will help grow the practice.
The candidate will work with clients, reply promptly to prospective clients, and perform detail-oriented administrative tasks.
This individual will utilize a case management system to keep detailed records of client matters and assist the attorney in the performance of all administrative duties.
This position has the potential for promotion to a paralegal position.
*RESPONSIBILITIES *
• Provide exceptional proactive service to existing and prospective clients
• Rapid responsiveness to clients and prospective clients
• Schedule client appointments, maintain attorney’s schedule, and coordinate events and meetings
• Handle incoming calls and other communications including greeting clients and visitors as needed
• Open and close client files
• Maintain and input data to case management systems and document drafting software
• Prepare basic estate planning documents
• Electronically file into the Surrogate’s Court system
• Organize and maintain office common areas including prepping conference rooms for client meetings
• Initiate, draft, and finalize correspondence
• Perform client billing
• Perform other assignments and errands from the attorney as needed
*REQUIREMENTS *
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality regarding internal firm and client information
• Willingness to learn the trusts & estates practice area and new software systems
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office365
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal, planning, and organization skills
• Prior legal experience not required, but preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Notary public license preferred
