Produce Managers are responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the department.
This includes:
Providing friendly and attentive customer service
Maintaining proper shelf/display conditions through cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
Ensuring proper handling and storing of product
Fulfilling weekly product orders while adhering to store policies in order to maintain adequate supply levels
Achieving financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense
Ensuring proper operation of and temperatures in cooler, prep area, and cases
Completing all necessary paperwork relating to the department
Selection, training, development and scheduling of produce associates
Requirements:
Successful Produce Manager candidates should meet the following qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous retail experience
Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous manner and promote sales through excellent customer service
Excellent communication skills
Night, weekend, and holiday availability
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
Basic computer skills
