Scents by Design is a pour-your-own candle and custom fragrance bar located in the Neighborhood of the Arts in Rochester, NY.
We sell natural soy candles and premium home fragrance products that are hand-made in our store each day, but what makes Scents by Design really special is our custom fragrance experience.
We carry over 100 distinct scents, and customers can come in to our shop to blend fragrance oils to make custom candles, flameless home fragrance products and body products.
*Job Summary*:
We are seeking an accountable, expressive, fun person to join our team.
As a Scent Stylist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and helping to maintain our shop.
This is a part-time position and would require 5-25 hours per week.
Starting pay is $15/hour plus tips.
*Responsibilities*:
* Greeting customers upon entry
* Explaining the custom fragrance process
* Assisting customers as they blend their fragrance oils, pour candles, and/or make fragrance products
* Processing customer payments
* Serving beverages
* Cleaning and restocking workstations, products, store facilities and sanitizing supplies
* Pouring candles and making ready to sell products
* Other assignments as needed
*Qualifications:*
* Must be 18 years or older
* Strong communication and verbal skills
* Outgoing with a positive, upbeat attitude
* Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, carry boxes, use machinery and lift up to 50 pounds
Must have weekday and weekend availability.
Our normal shifts are:
* Tue-Wed-Thu: 10:45am-7:15pm
* Fri-Sat: 10:45am-8:15pm
* Sun: 10:45am-5:15pm
Retail experience is a plus, until the only requirement is enthusiasm for a positive customer experience.
