Heavy Equipment Operator

JOB TITLE: Heavy Equipment Operator.
REPORTS TO: Ferrous Operations Manager.
JOB TYPE: Full-time, Non-Exempt.
LOCATION: 1515 Scottsville Road, Rochester NY, 14623.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
OVERTIME: Saturday’s as Needed or Requested 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
COMPENSATION: Based on Experience and Skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: The following duties are typical for this position; the following requirements are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
Other duties may be required and assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Knowledge of material requirements; material shipping specifications; size threshold; weight thresholds.
Safe handling and/or moving material Effective communication with all site personnel.
Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
Daily maintenance of equipment.
Identify, report, correct and/or prevent hazards.
Perform tasks maintaining all health, safety and environmental rules and ensure work is completed in a safe and responsible manner.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for long periods.
Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis.
Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices, and typical sounds.
Ensure others around you are aware of your whereabouts.
QUALIFICATIONS: High School degree or equivalent preferred.
Able to operate excavators, loaders, etc.
Knowledge of the various ferrous and non-ferrous metals a plus.
Quick learner who can follow directions.
Good communication skills.
Team player.
Organized, consistent, and good at multitasking.
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work.
Able to pass a pre-employment check.
