Marshall Farms’ Fabrication Technician is responsible for basic fabrication of various parts for animal pens, shipping crates, moving carts, etc.
at Marshall Farms and its subsidiaries as needed.
They will also assist in the vehicle maintenace department as needed The Fabrication Technician will: Perform basic fabrication of the various parts for animal pens, shipping crates, moving carts, etc.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Follow instruction to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Preserve maintenance records as required by Marshall Farms.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Construct cages or modifications to existing cages in animal buildings when specified by management.
Maintain accurate up-to-date inventory counts for cage wire and parts.
Notify management when inventory of cage materials is low and replacement material needs to be ordered.
Assist with Vehicle Prep/Maint as needed.
Complete other duties as specified by management.
Work Conditions: Work completed both indoors and out at new construction, existing sites and all property owned by Marshall Farms and its subsidiaries.
Individual may be subject to inclement weather conditions when working outdoors.
Conditions inside animal buildings are often hot, humid, dusty and dirty including manure.
Work area may have a high level of noise requiring earplugs.
Duties are performed primarily on 1st shift with varying extended hours including occasional weekend work with a requirement to be on call, when needed.
Out of town travel to other facilities may be required for multiple days which may involve overnight stay near the local facility.
Must be clean shaven or willing to shave at a moment’s notice to properly wear a respirator / N95 mask if needed.
Required to adhere to Barrier Affidavit requirements.
Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED, and a combination of education/experience that demonstrates proficiency in principles and practices of parts fabrication.
Requires valid NYS driver’s license and CDL-B level is preferred.
Competency Requirements: Individual is capable of effectively and consistently performing essential tasks as they relate to parts fabrication.
Individual will combine both manual and appropriate specialized skills needed.
Individual will stay up to date with available new materials and new methods of parts fabrication.
Leadership Requirements: Individual will contribute to a productive and professional environment by setting a positive example and demonstrating enthusiasm, diligence, and ethical behavior and by taking responsibility for ones’ actions and challenging oneself to continually improve and do quality work in a timely manner.
Physical Requirement: Physical requirements include considerable use of arms and legs including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.
Work may be strenuous at times and include lifting heavy objects, standing, stooping, and kneeling for long periods of time.
This position requires manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
Mental Requirement: Individual is capable of effectively receiving, understanding and applying written and oral instructions and maintains the ability to solve arithmetic problems quickly and accurately.
This position is a Grade F4, pay range is $19.
51-$29.
