*SUMMARY*
The role of Sewing Operator / Custom Sewer is to handle, assemble, and sew fabric components and associated materials used in the production of tents, pouches, bags, clothing, aerospace covers, and general covers using a variety of equipment and small tools.

*RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Responsible for a variety of items related to textile manufacturing including sewing and/or material handling.
* Operates sewing machines, various equipment, and/or small tools in the production of tents, pouches, bags, clothing, aerospace covers, and general covers.
* Selects parts and supplies according to specifications.
* Operations require to be performed with speed and accuracy.
* Responsible for material handling as needed related to the job.
* Responsible for quality of products produced according to SFI quality specifications.
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor and in full compliance with all SFI company safety policies.
* Assists Production Supervisor with production tasks/issues as needed or assigned.
* May conduct other production operations above those listed.
* Makes recommendations for improved work-flow and efficiencies.
* Responsible to keep work areas neat, clean, and organized.
* Responsible to comply with all regulations as established by various government regulatory agencies.
* Conducts physical inventory as needed.
* Prepares finished goods for shipment as requested.
* Performs all other duties as required by management.
