Position Description This is a Maintenance Mechanic position in the printed electronics organization.
The printed electronics process utilizes production-scale, roll-to-roll equipment in class 1,000 and 10,000 cleanroom environments using two fundamental process blocks: 1) flexographic printing and 2) electroless copper plating.
The scope of this position includes maintenance of all facility / support equipment used in the printed electronics manufacturing plant, as well as serving as a backup for process maintenance.
Assisting with the installation of new equipment and managing spare parts is also within the scope of this position.
The right candidate will be able to ensure that the current equipment continues to perform efficiently with sufficient up-time through prompt and thorough preventative maintenance and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities Hands-on maintenance mechanic for department-specific facility and support equipment including cleanroom infrastructure*, 100 psi compressor, water treatment system, custom material handling equipment, local maintenance shop equipment, and warehousing equipment.
*Cleanroom infrastructure includes air-handling units, HEPA filters, exhaust fans, steam generators, and cleanroom mechanicals (overhead & pedestrian doors, air louvers, walls, etc.
).
• Execute preventive maintenance per the existing Maintenance and Calibration Database and develop new preventive maintenance practices as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair broken and failing equipment.
• Implement predictive maintenance monitoring to reduce machine failures in a cost-effective manner.
• Interface with site / suppliers as issues arise with externally supplied building utilities: chilled water, process vacuum, 80 psi air, low pressure steam.
• Perform electrical modifications to equipment; must be willing to complete training for “Electrically Qualified” status if not already done.
• First point of contact for site controls system and alarm escalation • Backup for process equipment maintenance mechanic for time critical actions Required Skills • Skilled trades knowledge: general electrical, mechanical, and piping.
• Skills to troubleshoot, repair, install, and adjust for routine and demand maintenance.
Use analytical trouble shooting techniques to identify the root cause failure level for implementing repairs.
• Proven ability to generate and execute preventative maintenance procedures.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical/electrical machine drawings.
• Experience with process control systems (PLC).
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to effectively and respectfully interact with a variety of job functions including engineers, supervisors, trades, operations personnel, and contractors.
• Demonstrated ability to work productively while being self-directed and proactive.
• Use of all required computer systems, including Microsoft Office products, Kodak’s PV (Process Verification) Suite, Siemens, Compliant Pro, etc.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a safe manner at all times; complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including confined space, LOTO, work permits, protective clothing and PPE as required.
• Maintain Respirator certification (full-face respirator) for infrequent maintenance activities.
Desired Skills • HVAC experience.
• Experience working in cleanrooms.
• Powered Industrial Truck experience.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals, such as PDCA, 5S, Gemba, etc.
• Previous experience in ISO certified organizations; adherence to Change Management policies.
• Candidates with more significant experience may be considered for additional Team Leader responsibilities including providing work guidance and mentoring to other maintenance staff, prioritization of maintenance team tasks and man-power, coordination of contracted tools and services, and SAP spare part setup and ordering.
Other • Must be comfortable/able to work in cleanroom conditions when required (requires full gowning head to toe).
• Ability to reach, bend, crawl, stoop, push and/or pull, and lift/move 40 lbs.

• Ability to work off ladders or scaffolding, in some awkward positions.
• Starting A-shift schedule, Mon-Thur, 10 hr days.
Schedule may change over time as factory evolves to a 24/7 operation.
• Infrequent call-in for off-hours response to issues.
